Changes to Registration Details
It is important that registrants keep their information up to date so that the PSI holds accurate information about registrants and can ensure the accuracy of the public registers.
Pharmacists and pharmaceutical assistants must ensure that their contact details are always updated on their account on the PSI’s online registration portal. This ensures we can contact you regarding continued registration, send you your registration certificate and if required, contact you to verify your account details.
Details that should be kept up to date by you include your address, email address and photograph. If you would like to update your name, this is a separate request and must be submitted for approval. You can also update your area of practice and your employment record for roles in a pharmacy registered with the PSI.
You can access your registration details on the portal by selecting ‘Your Profile’.
Select 'Your Profile' and update the details as required.
- Address (please note that the hard copy registration certificate will be sent to this address)
- Contact telephone number
- You cannot change the number that the security code for two factor authentication (when logging on to the portal) is texted to. Please email info@psi.ie with your name, registration number and the new phone number. You will then be contacted by phone as we must identify you (to comply with data protection legislation)
- Email address (if you have access to the current email address associated with your login)
- If you do not have access to the current email address associated with your login, please email info@psi.ie with your name, registration number and the new email address. You will then be contacted by phone as we must identify you (to comply with data protection legislation)
- Photograph can be changed by selecting ‘Update Profile Image’ (please note that the photograph must comply with the listed standards to allow us to issue your registration certificate)
Your name on the registration portal and the public online register must be identical to your name on your birth certificate or any official document confirming a name change. The ‘First Name’ and ‘Last Name’ on your profile on the PSI’s online registration portal will be displayed on your registration certificate and on the public online register. The ‘Middle Name’ will not be displayed.
If you wish to submit a name change application, select ‘Your Profile’ and ‘Request Name Change’. You must submit relevant documentation with your request, such as a marriage certificate. When the application is approved, your will be notified by email and your name will automatically update on the portal and the public online register.
Your employment record on the PSI’s online registration portal can include your roles in pharmacies registered with the PSI. When you leave a role in a pharmacy, please access your employment record and ensure that your end date is added.
You can update your employment record on the PSI’s online registration portal for the roles as pharmacist and pharmaceutical assistant. Select ‘My Profile’, ‘My Employment History’ and ‘Create’.
The roles of superintendent or supervising pharmacist can only be added to your record through an application by the pharmacy owner. Read more about the application process
You can end date all roles on your employment record (please use the end date of your employment contract, not the last day in the pharmacy). If you wish to delete any incorrect employment records you must contact PSI on info@psi.ie.
As part of the continued registration application, pharmacists are required to declare whether they are practicing in a patient-facing role. This can only be updated on the continued registration application. If there is a change in your area of practice during the year, you can inform us by email to info@psi.ie so we can make the necessary updates on our end.
Pharmacists can additionally specify their principal area of practice on their account on the PSI online registration portal. Please log on to your account and go to the ‘Your Profile’ section and scroll down to ‘Other’. Areas of practice include community, hospital, academic, industry and regulatory.
