Accessibility
We are committed to achieving “level aa” conformance to the web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.
This accessibility statement applies to www.psi.ie
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for all users with a particular focus on delivering a positive experience for those with Visual and Mobility/Motor/Dexterity impairments. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.
The PSI website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 level AA. This means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard.
Assessment approach
The PSI assessed the accessibility of the PSI website by the following approaches:
-
Pa11y automated testing
-
Manual testing
Using automated testing allows us to quickly test multiple webpage elements and their accessibility compliance. As there are limitations to automated testing, we use manual testing to check elements that are outside of Pa11ys testing scope.
Technical specifications
Accessibility of the PSI website relies on the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on your computer:
-
HTML
-
WAI-ARIA
-
CSS
-
JavaScript
These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used.
