Joan Peppard

Joan Peppard studied pharmacy in UCD and worked in hospital pharmacy from 1984 to 2023, having previously worked in community pharmacy. Joan was the Chief Pharmacist at the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore from 2006 to 2023 and has been a tutor pharmacist for both pharmacy students and pharmacy technician students. She has held the role of President of the Hospital Pharmacists Association of Ireland (2006-08 and 2011-12) and elected President of the European Association of Hospital Pharmacists in 2015 for a three-year term.

Joan was the pharmacy lead for the DMHG group in the national COVID-19 vaccination centeres, where she embraced the implementation of technologies for medicine management. She has a degree in Public Management from the Institute of Public Administration (2000) and a Masters in Ethics from Dublin City University (2012).

Joan is a pharmacist appointee to the PSI Council.
